SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER (HRBP)
Job mission:
As part of the HR policy, business objectives, and the priorities of its segment, he/she develops and
implements the HR action plan, ensures its deployment and follow-up, as well as the evaluation of
HR performance, in accordance with local HR procedures and regulations, while also shaping long-
term talent strategies that foster employee growth, strengthen leadership capabilities, and position
the company as an attractive employer both locally and across all regions where the business
operates, including but not limited to Mauritius and South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the implementation of an HR policy tailored to the Business Unit and establish an annual
action plan to support its business objectives
• Contribute to translating the Business Unit’s priorities into clear HR objectives.
• Analyse current resources (headcount, skills, tenure, etc.), identify gaps, and implement
corrective action plans.
• Integrate a strategic workforce planning approach by anticipating future skills, market
trends, and evolving business needs.
2. Ensure recruitment, development, and retention of talent locally and regionally to meet the
staffing needs of the Business Unit
• Conduct alignment meetings with managers to define priorities and clarify the profiles to be
recruited.
• Ensure the regular updating of all job descriptions within the Business Unit.
• Oversee sourcing, selection, interviews, coordination with stakeholders, and presentation of
salary offers to select candidates.
• Develop strategies to attract and retain local talent, while also building regional pipelines to
strengthen the organization’s presence and competitiveness in the market.
• Supervise the onboarding process to deliver an employee experience aligned with company
policies and business objectives.
3. Contribute to training design for the Business Unit and coordinate the deployment of selected
training initiatives
• Clarify and validate training needs raised by employees and monitor their deployment.
• Promote training catalogues and processes and assist employees in accessing development
opportunities.
• Link development programs to succession plans and business growth priorities, ensuring a
pipeline of future-ready talent.
• Ensure post-training evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives.
4. Participate in people reviews to ensure succession planning for key positions and support
employees in managing their careers
• Map employees within the Business Unit in collaboration with managers, identify key
positions, and ensure succession planning.
• Conduct mobility and career development interviews, supporting employees in managing
their professional growth.
• Oversee the annual performance evaluation process for the Business Unit, drive HR
reporting, communication, and change management initiatives.
• Ensure timely HR reporting for the Business Unit, support the deployment of Group HR
projects, communicate about these initiatives, and lead change management to foster
adoption within the Business Unit.
5. Address the needs and expectations of employees within the Business Unit
• Gather employee feedback and propose initiatives to respond effectively.
• Foster a healthy social climate within the Business Unit through active listening and open
communication.
• Promote engagement initiatives to strengthen employee loyalty, positioning the company as
an employer of choice both locally and across the region.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
• Education Level: Master’s Degree (Bac +5) in Human Resource or any related field
• At least 8-12 years’ work experience in Human Resource
• The candidate must have strong expertise in talent & career management, people review
processes, communication & change management and recruitment & selection process.
• Solid knowledge of labour legislation, HR strategies, intercultural management, and project
management is required.
• The candidate must have excellent management skills, including customer orientation,
commitment to deliverables, initiative-taking, problem anticipation, reporting & monitoring,
and active involvement in quality and continuous improvement processes.
• The candidate must also have strong interpersonal skills, integrity, team spirit, flexibility, and
the ability to analyse and synthesize information effectively.
