SENIOR SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SSME)
As a Senior Subject Matter Expert, you will be working as a key authority providing expert guidance
across multiple banking environments and PowerCARD versions.
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Payment & PowerCARD SME who can balance
production ownership and project involvement, ensuring system reliability, solution validation, and
continuous optimization across the payment ecosystem.
Detailed Description:
• Process the clearing of incoming & outgoing settlement files of the different Cards Associations for our
clients;
• Take end-to-end ownership of production stability, covering issuing, acquiring, switching, and
reconciliation flows.
• Actively contribute to project phases, including study, solution design review, and validation
in collaboration with Market teams.
• Lead the resolution of critical incidents and complex issues, conducting advanced root cause
analysis (RCA) and driving permanent fixes.
• Ensure consistency and alignment across PowerCARD versions, identifying gaps and
managing version-specific constraints.
• Oversee and validate production configurations, parameters, and system interfaces.
• Drive and govern incident, problem, and change management processes (CAB) to minimize
production impact.
• Define, standardize, and enforce runbooks, operational procedures, and best practices across
all environments.
• Lead project-to-production transitions, ensuring smooth go-lives and operational readiness.
• Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, driving continuous
optimization initiatives.
• Act as a mentor and knowledge leader, supporting team upskilling and promoting
PowerCARD best practices.
Key Skills & Requirements:
• 10–13+ years of relevant experience in the payments and card processing domain.
• Deep expertise in end-to-end payment transaction flows (authorization, clearing,
settlement).
• Strong mastery of PowerCARD modules (issuing, acquiring, switching, reconciliation) and the
broader payment ecosystem (Issuer, Acquirer, Schemes).
• Proven track record in production support, incident management, and advanced root cause
analysis (RCA).
• Strong technical capabilities in SQL, log analysis, and transaction troubleshooting.
• Solid experience in project delivery, including requirements analysis, solution validation, and
collaboration with cross-functional/Market teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills, with experience managing SLAs and
driving service excellence.
